This is a music video about the life of the common lowlands code monkey. Jonathan Coulton is a singer/songwriter who releases his songs via the Creative Commons license, which enables projects such as this video. Through his “Thing A Week” podcast, Jonathan has put out a clever, creative song like this one every week for a year. Mike Spiff Booth is a Program Manager at Adobe who thought this great song really deserved a video. Before you ask, since apes, goblins, and night elf receptionists don’t tend to interact much in the wild, he couldn’t only use captured game footage to make this video. Every frame of this video was composited together by hand using images captured from the WoW Model Viewer, WoW Map Viewer, and the World of Warcraft game itself. No monkeys were harmed in the making of this film. Please visit www.spiffworld.com for more information about his videos, including info about how he makes them. The song at the end of the video is “Big Bad World One”, another great Jonathan Coulton song.
I had forgotten about this until last night 🙂
Thanks +The Final Colony – Author Lacerant Plainer for helping me remember
🙂

+Farran Lee reminded me of this song, and so I send it into the world now..
I doubt it’s new to anyone to whom it’s relevant, but, just maybe… I
love you, Code Monkeys!

Johnathan Coulton is a funny #geek and makes some *great* music. If you
haven’t heard of him before…well…too bad for you, but we’ll get past
that. Here…
While continuing my quest to find a laptop skin, I took a bit of a detour
into shirt.woot.com and found this design —

clever, too.)

It’s so true….
🙂 ist es so?
Ok enough goofing off on small projects this morning. It’s time to start
grinding away, but I’m seeking advice once again. As of right now I’m
developing off a WAMP installation(until I get my dev server built _waiting
on parts yet again_) with Notepad++ for code editing on PHP/HTML/JAVA/CSS
etc. The basics. What preferred IDE is out there for developers that may
make my job just a bit easier? I’ve always done it with a full local server
and either Visual Studio or Notepad++, but I keep telling myself there has
to be an easier/better way.
Some days I feel like this video too lol ;p
I know it’s late, but it is Flashback Friday!!! In honor of seeing Jonathan
Coulton and TMBG last Saturday night at the Pageant in St. Louis, I present
